Eventual trash

If you make something and you toss it without posting it on the internet first, does it even exist? ...And why did you toss it in the first place?

Okay, that implies that these garments are already gone from my wardrobe which is not true, they're sitting right beside me, still here. But they definitely need to go because they are terribly uncomfortable and not suitable for a real person to wear and like, move and live and breathe and stuff. I made them in either 2018 or 19 and put some final adjustments maybe a year ago? Because, even when I know I'm going to be throwing projects away I feel compelled to finish them anyway.

This faux-leather dress doesn't look TOO bad for a first attempt. However, the material isn't stretchy enough to accommodate movement, and I feel like I'm gonna snap some seams every time I shift my position. It's too stiff to create a perfectly smooth silhouette, looking at all the excess material through wrinkles and folds (despite it being overall just too damn tight). Also, I lined it unnecessarily. The faux-leather already has a woven backing so that was an extraneous step, and because it's so fitted it makes a conspicuous swishing sound every time I even slightly move my body.

Also, it's really short! Or, it's a decent length if I stay completely still, the only way to prevent it from riding up. It's a bit too sexy for where my personal style is now. I was going for cool villain's hypercompetent second-in-command to varying degrees of success? Anyway, I don't want to try and make version 2.0 because villainy, as I've experienced, is as suffocating as it is sweaty.

Threw on a jacket and boots to make it more casual and street, but experienced more perspiration and heat.

Onto the next 'fit that does not fit.

I made this matching crop top and shorts set when I hacked apart a thrifted dress with a too-small waist. I couldn't resist the quirky print, even if the textile itself is an itchy polyester jacquard. Even after opening up the darts, it's still too small around the bust and it constricts me when I breathe. Not enough to suffocate me for real, but it's far from pleasant. I'm considering keeping the shorts just because I put in pockets and reworked the fit and waistband so many times goddammit would likely get more use of out them than a crop top, which is a trend I could never really get into.

Ah! It's worse from the back! That highly visible white zipper! Maybe this will motivate me to finally let it all go...
